Girls basketball: Floyd, Schmidt lead Anthony Wayne

Anthony Wayne got solid scoring and rebounding from Jordan Floyd and Erika Schmidt to defeat visiting Findlay 58-48 last night in girls basketball.

Floyd had 14 points and seven rebounds and Schmidt totaled 13 and six to pace the Generals.

Ashley Bromley added 12 points for Anthony Wayne, and Ja'Neisha Galloway had four steals to go along with five points.

Dannyell Butte paced the Trojans with 19 points. Ashley Miller added 14.

SPRINGFIELD 56,

ROGERS 36

Visiting Springfield, which led 31-12 at the half, got 10 points each from Keyonna Gregory, Sara Dean and Krista Haley.

Jasmine Crosby led Rogers with 18 points.

BOWLING GREEN 57,

ELMWOOD 36

BLOOMDALE - Liz Hammer hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points, and Stanisha Taylor added 12 points for Bowling Green. Brooke Rosendale led Elmwood with 12.

FOSTORIA 49, ROSSFORD 40

Aja Hall led visiting Fostoria with 26 points and Veronica Wonderly added 18. Anne Yanrick paced Rossford with 12.

Fostoria outscored Rossford 16-6 at the free throw line.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 60,

Kara Fegler poured in 21 points, and Bethanie Critchley added 10 for the visiting Eagles.

Leslie Thomson scored 18 points, Emily Junga 12 and

Stacey Diegel 11 for Maumee.

VAN BUREN 62, EASTWOOD 51

VAN BUREN - Van Buren had four players score 12 points each - Rachel Adolph, Laura Thornton, Sara Doxsey and Chelsi Faine.

Brooke Gottfried and Emily Bockbrader shared scoring honors for Eastwood, also with 12 apiece.

GENOA 45,

OAK HARBOR 40

GENOA - Simone Eli hit four 3-pointers and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line on the way to 20 points to lead Genoa.

Jessica Feller added 14 for the Comets, who led 20-8 after one quarter but only 28-24 at the half.

Meghan Carpenter scored 12 for Oak Harbor.

OTTAWA HILLS 45,

GIBSONBURG 44

GIBSONBURG - Katherine Jamieson scored on a layup with 30 seconds remaining to put

Ottawa Hills ahead for good.

Gibsonburg's last possession ended with a turnover that sealed the win for Ottawa Hills.

Jamieson finished with a game-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Emily Clark paced Gibsonburg with 13 points and five rebounds, and Katie Jones added 10 points and five boards.

LAKE 55, NORTHWOOD 23

Visiting Lake jumped to a 23-7 lead after one quarter, and got 18 points from Jessica Abby and 15 from Lauren Lind. Sammie Brisbin led Northwood with eight.

EVERGREEN 64, OTSEGO 54

TONTOGANY - Taylor Langenderfer and Kenzie Pinkelman scored 21 points apiece for Evergreen.

Ashley Holzwart paced Otsego with 19 points, including four 3-pointers.

CAREY 52, LAKOTA 26

KANSAS - Balanced scoring paved the way for Carey's victory as Karrah Windau, Hilary Wentung, Taelor Vaughn and Julie Hill scored eight points apiece.

Amy Gosche paced the Raiders with 12 points and 4 blocked shots.

NEW RIEGEL 62, STRITCH 26

NEW RIEGEL - New Riegel, which connected on 20 of 27 free throws, got 14 points from Taylor Mathias, 11 from Paula Kelbley and 10 from Lauren Hutton.

Nicole Lamb led Cardinal Stritch with eight points.

MAUMEE VALLEY 50,

BETTSVILLE 16

BETTSVILLE - Lindsey Blaszczyk had 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Nollie Brown added 10 points for the Hawks.

Kendra Kosta topped Bettsville with six points.

WAUSEON 62, ARCHBOLD 58

WAUSEON - Taylor Creager scored 14 points and Brittany Gibson and Alexis Pierce added 13 each for Wauseon, which survived 9-of-22 free throw shooting.

Danielle Leaser led Archbold with 19 points, and Devin Newman and Andrea Allan added 11 each.

PETTISVILLE 76, DELTA 23

DELTA - Haley Nofziger scored 21 points and Felica King added 17 for Pettisville.

Kathleen Przeslawski scored 10 for Delta.
