Bishop scores 18 to pace unbeaten Start

Azia Bishop led three Spartans in double figures with 18 points as Start remained unbeaten with a 74-37 victory over Rogers in a City League girls basketball game last night.

Maleeka Kynard added 13 and Yolanda Richardson had 11 for Start (3-0, 2-0).

Jasmine Crosby and Dominique Savage paced the visiting Rams (2-3, 0-2) with nine points apiece.

WAITE 94, LIBBEY 30

Shanice McNeal scored a game-high 18 points and Courtney Jackson provided 17 to lead the Indians to their first win of the season, which was also career-win No. 100 for Waite coach Manny May.

Miriah Haynes added 16 points and Natasha Howard 12 for Waite (1-2, 1-1).

Nikki McIntyre led Libbey (0-4, 0-2) with nine.

BOWSHER 46,

ST. URSULA 40

Taye Carswell paced the Rebels (1-1) with 16 points as they won on the road.

Natalie Seeman scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for St. Ursula (0-3).

SCOTT 39, NOTRE DAME 37

Skylar Gregory scored 11 points to lead the Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0) to victory.

Jacquelyn Litle finished with 11 points for Notre Dame (2-2, 1-1).

CLAY 58, WHITMER 40

Jessica Achter produced a game-high 13 points to lead a balanced Eagles attack. Megan Scharer and Lauren Taylor added 11 apiece for Clay (2-2, 2-0).

Brittany McVicker, Malisa Hoak and Laura Campbell provided eight points each for Whitmer (3-1, 1-1).

LAKE 42, NORTHWOOD 40

Anthony Lumbreras nailed a one-and-one opportunity from the line with three seconds remaining to lift the Flyers at home. Lumbreras had tied the contest with a basket with 1:06 left in the game. He finished with 21 points.

Ryan Canaday led Northwood with 17 points.
