Perrysburg survives scare from Springfield

Springfield gave visiting Perrysburg a scare, but the Yellow Jackets stayed unbeaten with a 45-30 victory in girls Northern Lakes League basketball last night with a substantial advantage at the free throw line and in the first and fourth quarters.

Perrysburg (10-0, 13-0) outscored Springfield 14-2 in the first quarter and 13-3 in the fourth.

And the Yellow Jackets hit 16 of 26 free throws to the Blue Devils' 6 of 9.

Demi Moschetti led Perrrysburg with nine points and Morgan Coulter led Springfield (9-9, 7-6) with eight.

BOWLING GREEN - The Generals made 13 of 15 foul shots in the fourth quarter and 18 of 27 for the game. The Bobcats made 10 of 17 for the night.

Erika Schmidt led the Generals (10-8, 8-5 NLL) with 19 points and Hayley Barrett added 11.

Hayley Williford scored 14, Bethany Hoehner 11 and Liz Hammer and Jessica Sikula 10 each for the Bobcats (7-12, 4-9).
