Lake girls win to cap 20-0 season

BLOOMDALE - Lake's girls finished a 20-0 regular season with a 51-29 Suburban Lakes League basketball victory over Elmwood last night.

The hot-shooting Flyers hit 13 of 20 2-pointers, 5 of 16 3-pointers and 10 of 11 free throws.

This was Lake's first unbeaten season as well as the Flyers' first SLL title.

Kaysie Brittenham led Lake with 16 points and Rebekah Will added 11.

Emily Reynolds scored nine points for the Royals (3-17, 2-12).

At Clay, Nicole Steinmetz scored 16 and Megan Agoston 11 for the Eagles (13-6). Natalie Seeman led St. Ursula with seven.

Eleven players scored for the host Blue Devils (10-10).

Sarah Dean totaled 15 points and hit a key 3-point shot to open the fourth quarter for Springfield. The Blue Devils had a 16-8 third-period edge.

Courtney Mowery paced the Comets (15-4) with 13 points and Alyssa Meis added 11.

WAUSEON - The Indians took a 30-13 lead at the half and outrebounded the Panthers 36-28.

Sabrina Kessler led Wauseon (16-3) with 16 points and Taylor Creager added 13.

Stacey Diegel led Maumee (2-18) with nine points.

TIFFIN - Columbian capped a 20-0 season with a romp as Megan Miller scored 18, Lexi Rohrbach 17, Jill Stein 14 and Chris Tiell 12.

Brooke Gottfried led Eastwood (9-11) with 12 points.

The Eagles shut out the visiting Rangers in the first quarter and used a balanced-scoring attack to secure the TAAC victory.

Bethany Critchley led Toledo Christian (10-10, 5-5) with 13 points. Kara Segler added 10.

Sammie Brisbin of Northwood (7-13, 4-8) scored 14 points.

METAMORA - Michelle Nickels scored nine points, and Patrick Henry outscored Evergreen 10-4 in the fourth quarter to finish 9-11.

Kenzie Pinkelman scored 13 and Lauren Langenderfer 12 for Evergreen (13-6), which hit just 1 of 12 shots in the fourth quarter.

LIBERTY CENTER - Emily Bodenbender and Kaitlin Rohrs scored 11 points apiece for Liberty Center.

Paige Onweller led the Bulldogs with 13, including four 3-pointers.

FAYETTE - Pettisville finishes 16-4 with the road victory.

Erica King scored 20, Haley Nofziger added 14 and Avina Brady and Kayla King had 11 and 10, respectively, for Pettisville.

JeriAnn Lewellen paced Fayette with 13 points.

LIMA - Luke Kraus scored 19 points and Brad Ammons added 12 as Findlay (12-5, 6-2) took over first place in the Greater Buckeye Conference.

Senior (14-4, 6-3) with 18 points.

NAPOLEON - The Wildcats blew open a close game by outscoring the Little Giants 16-8 in the final quarter.

Kyle Niermann led the way for Napoleon with 17 points. Lee Hunter added 15, including eight from the free throw line.

Kenny Penn scored 12 to lead Fremont Ross.

GRAFTON, Ohio - Stephen Behan scored 27 points and

Julius Turner had 23 as Emmanuel Christian rolled.

Joshua Guziolek led the Conquerors with 12 points.
