Rolf tallies 21, Ruch 19 to pace Eagles; Otsego tops Liberty Center; Northview beats Clay

PEMBERVILLE Clay Rolf scored 21 points, Clayton Ruch added 19 and Jason Faykosh had 15 as Eastwood got by Springfield 67-65 last night in boys basketball.

The Eagles (17-2) hit 4 of 6 free throws down the stretch and 12 of 19 for the game to offset the Blue Devils' nine 3-pointers.

Springfield was 4-of-10 from the line.

Tyler Liber led the Blue Devils with 21 points, including five 3-pointers, Chester McFadden added 18 points and Leroy Alexander had 11.

OTSEGO 66, LIBERTY CENTER 61

TONTOGANY Otsego was just successful enough at the free throw line to overcome Liberty Center's outside shooting.

The Knights hit 12 of 15 from the line in the fourth quarter and 24 of 31 for the game.

The Tigers hit 10 3-pointers, including five in the fourth quarter.

Matt Weisenborn led Otsego (11-7) with 22 points and was 9-for-9 from the line.

Tony Gerwin added 11 points and Keith Riffner and R.J. Hefflinger each had 10.

Chase Rogers scored 20 points and Patrick Brown had 16 for Liberty Center (2-17). The Tigers were 7-of-14 from the line.

NORTHVIEW 72, CLAY 59

The Wildcats spread the scoring around, putting four players in double figures to improve to 6-12.

Devin Simon drilled three 3-pointers as part of his 23 points. Tripper Northrup added 19 points, Jake Zureich 13 and Stephan Vizina 10.

The visiting Eagles connected on eight 3-pointers but couldn't overcome a nine-point halftime deficit. Drew Kuns led Clay (4-14) with 22 points. He had three 3-pointers. Matt Swaim added 16 points.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 65, ANTHONY WAYNE 57

OTTAWA Anthony Wayne and Ottawa-Glandorf staged a free throw marathon Anthony Wayne made 25 free throws and Ottawa-Glandorf 30.

Ottawa-Glandorf used strong 23-point second and fourth quarters to take the victory.

Taylor Kuhlman scored 17 and Quinn Kaufman 14 for Ottawa-Glandorf.

Cam Walton of Anthony Wayne led all scorers with 22. Jay Rezabek had 16.

WOODWARD 103, MONTPELIER 64

Ray Hooker scored 23 points, Robert Oliver had 18, Shejuan Wells 14 and Mike Carpenter 11 for Woodward.

Visiting Montpelier got 14 from Brit Moore, 13 from Lee Reese and 11 from Jake Buchanan.

EVERGREEN 70, DELTA 58

DELTA Evergreen came on strong in the fourth quarter, outscoring Delta 26-17 to change a narrow lead into a rout. Chad Mossing scored 32 points for Evergreen, including four 3-pointers. Brock Bates added 16 points.

Nate Jackson led Delta with 10 points.

FREMONT ROSS 64, COLUMBIAN 63

FREMONT Kenny Penn scored 24 and Jordan Jones and Stephen Carnicom 13 and 10, respectively, for Fremont Ross (9-9).

Derek Kneeskern paced Tiffin Columbian (9-9) with 19 points and Ethan Kagy and Cole Williams each added 14.

PETTISVILLE 55, WAUSEON 50

WAUSEON Pettisville, down by four at halftime, rallied in the second half to advance to 17-2.

Quinn Nofziger paced the Blackbird with 21 points while Michael Deffely added 15.

Tyler Hinkle scored 17 points to pace the Indiaans (10-8) and Michael Thompson added 10.

NORTH BALTIMORE 84, ARCADIA 58

ARCADIA Corey North scored 19 points, Chris Casey 16 and Jeremy Grant 13 for North Baltimore (8-10).

Jeremy Duncan with 19 and Landon Fleegle with 16 paced Arcadia (2-18).

HARTLAND 56, EMMANUEL 47

YOUNGSTOWN Justin Storm scored 17 points to lead Hartland Christian to an ACSI regional final win.

Stephen Behan scored 24 points as Emmanuel Christian ended its season with a 4-18 mark.

STATE LINE 62, APOSTOLIC 52

Todd Gardener led State Line Christian with 21 points. Joshua Guziolek had 13 for Apostolic Christian.
