Ottawa Hills romps; Genoa wins in OT

Friday night at Whitmer, one Division III sectional final was a runaway and the other went overtime.

In the opener, Ottawa Hills led Delta 8-6 then scored 31 straight points on the way to a 77-45 victory.

Phillips Beans scored 25 of his 31 points in the first half after which OH (19-2) led 49-14.

Eliot Browarsky added 12 for the Green Bears and J.J. Buckey had 10.

Josh Beverly led Delta (6-16) with 10 points.

In the nightcap, Genoa beat Evergreen 59-52 in overtime.

Matt Bassitt scored 22 points to pace the Comets (15-7) and his 3-pointers with 12 seconds left in regulation forced the extra session. Genoa jumped quickly to a 6-0 lead in OT.

Josh Lester added 13 points and Richard Wonnell had 11 for the Comets.

Chad Mossing hit four 3-pointers and scored 14, Lucas Pennington had 11 points with three 3-pointers, and Brock Bates worked the inside for 20 points for Evergreen (17-5).

LIBERTY-BENTON 43,

ELMWOOD 19

FINDLAY - Aaron Craft scored 27 points for Liberty-Benton - eight more than Elmwood.

Eight Royals scored despite their total of 19 points.

The first quarter ended in a 4-4 tie, but the Eagles led 28-6 by halftime.

FINDLAY - In the second romp here, Josh Johnson scored 20 points and Taylor Kulhman had 18 for the Titans. Keith Zeigler scored 11 for Mohawk.
