Rogers' Kynard places second at Pan Am Jr. Games

Rogers High grad Erik Kynard Jr., won the silver medal in the men's high jump at the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago.

Kynard took second place in the high jump after clearing a height of 2.10 meters. The two-time state high jump champion finished behind Derek Drovin of Canada.

Kynard captured the high jump title on his final attempt to win at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., in June.
