Lake defeats Rossford; Napoleon whips BG

MILLBURY - Alan Martinez scored on runs of 36 yards and 66 yards as Lake (2-1) defeated Rossford 21-6 Friday night.

Martinez's first score came with 2:13 left in the first quarter. The second TD came with 56 seconds left in the third quarter.

In between, Lake's Zach Sharpe scored on a 20-yard run. Teammate Greg Grove had two receptions for 92 yards.

Rossford (0-3) was paced by Alex LaPoint, who carried 21 times for 98 yards and the Bulldogs' only TD.

Napoleon 35, Bowling Green 3

NAPOLEON - John Weaver scored three touchdowns while Brandon Hummer added two scores to lead the Wildcats.

Weaver scored on a first-quarter run of 21 yards, then added a seven-yard TD jaunt before returning a blocked punt 23 yards for his second score in the second period.

Hummer scored from three yards out in the second quarter, then had a seven-yard scoring scamper in the third for Napoleon (3-0).

Bowling Green (0-3) scored in the fourth quarter when Matt Zirkes kicked a 28-yard field goal.

Anthony Wayne 64, Otsego 7

The Generals scored 35 points in the first quarter and rolled to the easy home victory.

Jordan Schwerer scored on punt returns of 60 and 73 yards to open the scoring for Anthony Wayne. He also had a 16-yard scoring run and finished with 124 rushing yards on just three carries.

Mike Bridges threw a 70-yard TD pass to his brother, Alex, and ran one yard for another score. Anthony Wayne (2-1) finished with 325 rushing yards.

The Generals' defense also recorded a third-quarter safety, and Anthony Densel recovered a block punt in the end zone to give AW three special teams scores.

Otsego's lone touchdown came on an eight-yard pass from Brian Smoyer to Dustin Serrato, but the Knights (0-3) had just 59 yards of total offense.
