Buenger's 5 TDs lead Patrick Henry over Liberty Center

LIBERTY CENTER - Justin Buenger scored five of Patrick Henry's six touchdowns to lead the undefeated Patriots to a 41-24 victory over Liberty Center Friday night.

Buenger, a senior who caught two touchdown passes from Luke George, rushed for 211 of the Patriots' 240 yards and scored three times on the ground.

Patrick Henry (4-0, 3-0 NWOAL) opened the first quarter with a 44-yard Buenger touchdown catch from quarterback Luke George.

Five minutes later, Liberty Center's fullback Bryan Hefflinger scored on an 18-yard run that left the teams even going into the second quarter.

The Patriots then tallied 19 unanswered points when Buenger scored on a 34-yard pass from George and ran eight yards, while Kevin Kline threw a 10-yard pass.

Buenger scored on a 71-yard pass, along with a field goal by Creager, for the only points in the third quarter.

In the final quarter, Buenger ran 86 yards to cap the Patriot's scoring, while Liberty Center (2-2, 2-1) got TD runs from Justin Joseph of 6 and 16 yards.

George was 11-of-18 for 171 yards passing.

WAUSEON - Jeff Jasso and Travis Reynolds led the way for the Indians (3-1, 2-0).

Jasso carried eight times for 126 yards, including touchdown runs of 5 and 46 yards. Reynolds added 73 yards on 15 carries, scoring on runs of 12 and 2 yards.

Wauseon totaled 243 yards on the ground and completed its only two passing attempts for 32 yards.

Tyler Deeds scored on a 60-yard punt return.

Delta falls to 1-3, 1-2.

MONTPELIER - Louis Miller caught two touchdown passes (19 and 85 yards) from Travis Hilton for Swanton.

Hilton completed 9 of 11 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns.

Darnell Hinds scored on a three-yard TD run in the second quarter for the Bulldogs (1-3, 1-2).

Montpelier is 0-4, 0-2.

NAPOLEON - The Wildcats scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to overcome a 21-14 deficit in a nonleague game between undefeated teams.

Brandon Hummer scored on an 11-yard run to help the Wildcats pull even. Then Clint Detmer scored on a 35-yard run to put the Wildcats (4-0) ahead to stay.

Nick Rettig scored on runs of 1 and 31 yards in the first half for Napoleon (4-0).

Bryan (3-1) scored on a 27-yard run by Levi Fisher, a 3-yard run by Colton Poncsak, and a 16-yard pass from Cody Keil to Alex Nossaman.

METAMORA - Garrett Morton threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as Archbold won easily.

Morton completed 17 of 28 attempts for 160 yards, adding 76 yards rushing on 17 attempts. His touchdown passes were caught by Desmond Sleigh of 31 yards and Noah Keefer of 43 yards. T.J. Gerken added a 76-yard TD run for Archbold.

Evergreen scored last on a six-yard TD reception by Chad Mossing who finished with 119 yards on six catches.
