Mules' ground attack overpowers Jefferson

MONROE — Bedford used a strong ground game to defeat Monroe Jefferson 36-20 last night.

The Mules rushed for 312 yards on 45 carries.

Jared Kujawa rushed for 72 yards on nine carries, including touchdown runs of 1 and 34 yards for Bedford (7-2,). Lee Hullibarger led Bedford's ground game with 87 yards on 14 carries while T.J. Romijn produced 72 yards on four carries, including a 54-yard touchdown scamper.

Jefferson (4-5,) trailed 29-12 at the half.

Whiteford 20, Morenci 8

WHITEFORD — Travis Pant scored on a six-yard run and Cody Donnelly also scored on a 16-yard run to help the Bobcats defeat the Bulldogs in a Tri-County Conference contest.

The Bobcats (6-3, 5-2 TCC) clinched a playoff berth with the victory over the Bulldogs (3-6, 2-5).

Forrest Grosteffon helped Whiteford's cause by recording two interceptions. Jack Bunge had a team-high 12 tackles.

Chas Frey paced Morenci with 61 yards on 10 carries, including a 33-yard touchdown run.

BLISSFIELD — Kyle Wehner tallied a 66-yard pass play from quarterback Eric Schmidt as the Royals (7-2) defeated Jonesville (5-4).

The Royals' got a pair of scores from Dalton Goetz, and a TD apiece from Travis Babbitt and Schmidt. Austin Powel got into the scoring with a 30-yard field goal.

Blissfield backs carried 50 times for 300 yards.

Jonesville's Brendon Jenkins had 78 yards on the ground including a 70-yard scamper for a TD. Teammate Johnny Sigler had an 80-yard touchdown run.
