Panthers, Cougars still tied for first

Jake Goatley threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns to leadMaumee (8-1, 5-1) to a 31-7 Northern Lakes League victory last night at Springfield.

Goatley connected with Nick Gebhart for a 22-yard touchdown pass and with Damon Contat for a six-yard scoring strike.

Eric Long rushed for 68 yards for the Panthers including two touchdowns (8 and 1 yards).

Jake Olman booted a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Tyler Grogg hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Leroy Alexander for Springfield (3-6, 2-4).

Southview 16, Bowling Green 0

BOWLING GREEN — DeNard Pinckney rushed for 93 yards on 14 carries, including a 20-yard touchdown run to lead theCougars (6-3, 5-1 NLL) to a shutout victory over the Bobcats (2-7, 2-4 NLL).

Dan Ampthor booted a 32-yard field goal and JaDarian Bowers scored on a 42-yard scamper to complete the scoring for Southview.

Anthony Wayne 62, Rossford 0

Anthony Wayne piled up 378 rushing yards in a lopsided win over Rossford (0-9, 0-6).

The Generals' (6-3, 4-2) Alex Bridges had three carries, all ending as touchdowns with runs of 27, 22, and 36 yards.

Jordan Schwerer also carried just three times, collecting 76 yards and reaching the end zone twice. Aaron Dulay ran for 135 yards on five carries with two TDs.

Perrysburg 41, Northview 13

Perrysburg's Matt Slocum threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more to lead the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 4-2 NLL) over the Wildcats.

Matt Slocum connected with Matt Marquette on a 42-yard touchdown pass.

Northview (3-6, 2-4 NLL) fired back on a 25-yard pass from Brian Downing to Tyler James.

Then the Yellow Jackets scored 27 unanswered points.

Freshman Steve Slocum hauled in a 45-yard Matt Slocum pass for a touchdown.

Perrysburg's defense got into the scoring action too when John Reddick took a Northview fumble 16 yards to the end zone. Tyler Gordon rounded out the Yellow Jackets' scoring with an 80-yard touchdown run.

Perrysburg amassed 249 yards on the ground on 36 carries. Matt Slocum completed 10 of 24 passes for 155 yards.

For the Wildcats, Brian Downing was 12 for 25 passing for 194 yards, and Brandyn Hall was 10 for 22 for 120 yards. Each threw for one touchdown.
