Lake tops Eastwood to improve to 16-0

PEMBERVILLE - Lake remained undefeated with a 60-44 victory Friday night over Eastwood in Suburban Lakes League girls basketball.

The Flyers (16-0, 10-0 SLL) jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but the Eagles (5-13, 4-7) answered to tie it at 10 at the end of the first quarter.

Lake pulled away with a 15-5 second-quarter advantage.

The Flyers were led by Kaysie Brittenham and Drew Plummer, who had 15 points apiece. Jessica Abbey added 13.

Kristin Martin paved the way for Eastwood with 19 points - 14 in the fourth quarter. Courtney Rolf grabbed 10 rebounds.

GENOA - Julie Swartzmiller scored 25 points and Jessica Feller 10 to lead the Comets (14-3, 9-1 SLL).

Samantha Stainbrook scored 12 to pace Gibsonburg (5-13, 1-9).

ELMORE - Audrey Thorbahn pumped in 13 points and Chelsey Marquette came through with 11 points to lead the Wildcats (11-8, 5-6).

Emily Reynolds paced Elmwood (2-14, 1-9) with 13 points.
