McFadden's 28 lead Devils past Cougars

Chester McFadden poured in 28 points and Leroy Alexander tossed in 22 as Springfield defeated Southview 68-50 Friday night in Northern Lakes League boys basketball.

The Blue Devils improved to 12-4, 8-4 NLL.

Andy Borcherdt led the Cougars (11-6, 6-6) with 17 points. Branden Yoshino added 11.

BOWLING GREEN - Leading by nine after the first qaurter, Bowling Green exploded for 26 points in the second quarter to put the game away.

Chauncey Orr and Vitto Brown combined for 20 points in the quarter.

Orr led all scorers with 26 points, Xavier Brown had 14, and Vitto Brown 10 for the Bobcats (11-5, 10-2 NLL).

Jarred Bowens led Northview (3-14, 3-9) with 10 points.

The Panthers prevailed at home, blasting out to a 17-1 first-quarter advantage.

Steven Boyd paced the Panthers (4-15, 2-10) with 22 points while Jon Hall provided 11.

Brad Celusta fired in 25 points for the Generals (1-16, 1-11), while Mark Donnal chipped in with 10.

Charlie Hughes and Andrew Holliger led the host Yellow Jackets with 16 points each.

Rossford (11-6, 6-6 NLL) owned a 28-25 lead at the half but Perrysburg (16-1, 12-0 NLL) took control with a 23-12 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Matt Marquette finished with 12 points for Perrysburg.

Zach Leahy tallied 18 points to lead Rossford.
