BOWLING GREEN — Ottawa Hills will advance to the Division IV boys basketball state tournament after beating Kalida 41-33 in the regional final at BGSU's Anderson Arena last night.
With the score tied 25-25 entering the final quarter, the Green Bears used a 11-2 run in the first five minutes of the final quarter to take command. Kalida cut the Ottawa Hills advantage to 36-33 with 1:24 left, but the Green Bears made five free throws to clinch the victory.
Ottawa Hills advances to the state semifinals at 10:45 a.m. March 26 at Ohio State's Schottenstein Center.
The Green Bears (24-1) were led by J.J. Buckey's 19 points, while Eliot Browarsky finished with 13, nine of which came in the final quarter.
Kalida (21-3) was led by Kristopher Osterhage with 10.
