The question for next year is, will she jump up to the top spot on the awards podium next?
Garringer finished second in the 100-yard buttefly for the second year in a row. She posted a time of 56.19 seconds Friday night, which is better than the time she had last year, 57.74 seconds.
"This is my personal-best time," Garringer said. "I am really pleased with it. My goal is to keep on improving my time and hopefully get first place next year."
Gates Mills Hawken sophomore Sarah Koucheki won the event in a state-record time of 55.22 seconds.
Garringer swam the first leg of the Wildcats' 200 freestyle relay that took third in 1:38.53. Juniors Jesse Sworden, Chandler Ashbaugh and Erika Vocke were the other members.
Vocke also finished eighth in the 200 freestyle (1:54.89) and the 100 freestyle (53.35 seconds).
Port Clinton's MacKenzie Stewart swims the breaststroke leg the 200-yard Individual medley at the state meet. She finished third.
Stewart won the state title last year in with a time of 2:05.94.
"My time was faster than it was last year," Stewart said. "I can't be too disappointed with that. I am hoping to have a better senior year. This is an awesome atmosphere to have everyone cheering so loud."
Koucheki won the 200 IM in 2:03.94.
Stewart also finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.37 and helped the Redskins place sixth in the 400 freestyle relay. Freshman Cheyenne Meek, senior Ashley Zoeller and senior Allie Reynolds were also in the relay.
"Everyone has gotten so ridiculously fast," Stewart said. "All the times today were so fast compared to last year."

Gates Mills Hawken continued its reign over the girls meet, winning its 21st girls state title, scoring 334 points. It has won 12 consecutive D-II titles after winning nine Division I crowns.
Napoleon finished sixth with 102 points and Port Clinton tied for 10th with 73 points.
The diving competition was held Wednesday. Kendall Weber and Lacy Mynhier of Wauseon finished third and sixth, respectively.
Weber compiled 442 points and Mynhier posted a score of 370.25 points. Bailey Dipman of Genoa was ninth with 361.40 points.
In the boys competition, Hunting Valley University School won its third consecutive state title by posting 377 points. Napoleon placed eighth with 93 points.
Napoleon junior Spencer Witt took eighth in the 100 breaststroke and 11th in the 200 individual medley. Witt also helped the Wildcats 200 freestyle relay place fifth and the 200 medley relay place ninth.
Senior Francisco Mangas, senior Tyler Anderson and junior Justin Allison assisted Witt in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.40). Witt, Anderson, Allison and junior Nick Mossing were timed at 1:41.40 in the 200 medley relay.
The Wildcats' Anderson, Mossing, junior Chad Rex and Mangas concluded the meet by finishing eighth in the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:20.79.
Timothy Pelltier of Napoleon finished 14th in the boys diving with 340.55 points.
