Titans trip Knights with fourth-quarter finish

St. John's 21, St. Francis 14

Kent Kern rushed 19 times for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner on a five-yard run with 4:40 remaining in the game to lift the Titans over the Knights at the Glass Bowl in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference game.

Kern also scored the first TD for St. John's (7-3, 4-3 TRAC) on a 22-yard run in the first quarter, and the Titans made it 14-0 at halftime on a 43-yard TD pass from Brogan Roback to Jordan King.

Roback was 7of-11 passing for 140 yards, as St. John's topped St. Francis 302-160 in total offense.

St. Francis (3-7, 2-5) got a third-quarter TD from Mark Metzger on a one-yard run, and tied the game in the fourth on an 11-yard run from Jarrod Jefferson.

The game ended with six seconds left after the 11th personal-foul penalty was called on the Knights.

Findlay 42, Fremont Ross 39

Vance Settlemire rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns, including the winner score, as Findlay outlasted Fremont Ross last night.

Settlemire rushed 10 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 51 seconds remaining to lift the Trojans (9-1, 6-1) to the victory and pushed them into the Division I playoffs. The loss knocks the Little Giants (5-5, 2-5) out of D-II playoff contention.

Paul Cosiano threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns for Findlay. He connected with Austin Niswander for an 18-yard score and with Dylan Blunk for a 41-yard TD.

Settlemire also had touchdown runs of 64, 30, and 10 yards.

Ross' Jabree Lather rushed for 168 yards and had a 64-yard touchdown run. Little Giants QB Tyler Wolf had a 27-yard TD pass to Drew Starks, an 81-yard bomb to Skylar Reffner and also scored on a 26-yard run.

DeAndre Gates recovered a fumble for Ross in the end zone.

Clay 31, Lima Senior 14

Leading 17-14 after three quarters, Clay scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to close out the victory.

Damon Dominique scored on a 3-yard TD run and Brett Jordan added a 2-yard TD run in the final period for the Eagles (3-7, 2-5). Garrett Gray got Clay on the board with a 27-yard return on a blocked punt in the first quarter, and Ryan Laberdee hauled in a 33-yard TD pass from Jordan in the second quarter.

Brooklyn Shurelds grabbed a 21-yard TD pass from Devon Allen for the Spartans (1-9, 0-7) in the first quarter, and Allen scampered for a 15-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Lima Senior running back Keithie Lasenby posted 158 yards on 26 carries.
