Flyers closer to NBC title with victory

Lake 67, Otsego 65

TONTOGANY -- Jayce Vancena's layup as time expired kept the Flyers (13-4, 9-2) in position to win the Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball title.

The Knights (9-7, 6-5) had tied the game with six seconds left on a pair of free throws by Tommy Rodgers, but Josh Tantari found Vancena (11 points) for the win.

Ra'Shad Smith led Lake with 29 points while A.C. Limes pumped in 24 for the Knights. Ryan Smoyer added 12 in the loss.


Eastwood 55, Elmwood 45

PEMBERVILLE -- Jake Schmeltz led the way for the Eagles (11-5, 8-3) with 15 points with Jacob Faykosh, Cody Jennings, and Caleb Vespi each adding 10.

Tyler Rosendale paced Elmwood (8-7, 5-6) with 14 points while Jeff Vanscooter chipped in with 10.


Fostoria 72, Woodmore 69

ELMORE -- Brandon Glenn scored a game-high 30 points to help lead the visiting Redmen (7-9, 6-5) past the Wildcats (6-10, 3-8) in double-overtime.

Adonis Cousin chipped in 17, while teammate Tyler Layton had 13 for Fostoria.

Leading the way for Woodmore was Donny Bowen with 14, Cody Croll and Jake Lewandowski with 13 apiece, and Harrison Wooten with 11.


Rossford 63, Genoa 51

GENOA -- The Bulldogs (5-11, 5-6 NBC) were led by Larry Sloan with 21 points while Manny Durden and Drew Brock each had 12.

The Comets (5-12, 2-9) got 15 from Mark Vogelpohl while Jake Schimming and Devin Sibby added 10 each.
