2 state titles for Knights' DiSalle

    Dan DiSalle of St. Francis de Sales and Kendall Weber of Wauseon capped off their seasons by winning titles at the state swimming and diving championships in Canton.

    DiSalle captured two crowns by winning the 50-yard freestyle (20.98) and 100 free (45.58) in Division I. Weber took home the Division II diving title with a score of 432.50.

    Matt Zimmerman, D.J. MacDonald, Jack Barone, and Nick Brodie of St. Francis claimed runner-up in the 200 medley relay (1:33.08), while Zimmerman, DiSalle, Connor Trimble, and Jack DiSalle finished second in the 400 free relay (3:05.19) to help the Knights earn third place in the team results.

    Zimmerman also earned a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:38.67), while MacDonald placed third in the 100 breaststroke (55.81).

    Lake's Jonathon Schlafer earned a third place in diving in Division II with a score of 476.30, and Napoleon's Spencer Witt claimed third place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.81.

    It was a strong showing for northwest Ohio in D-II diving as Lake's Samantha TenEyck (401.400) took third, Wauseon's Lacy Mynhier (383.70) placed fourth, and Genoa's Bailey Dipman (375.55) was fifth.

    Port Clinton's MacKenzie Stewart came through for third place in the 100 breast (1:04.08). Napoleon's Makenzie Garringer, Chandler Ashbaugh, Jesse Sworden, and Erika Vocke placed third in the 400 free relay (3:34.05).

    Notre Dame's Rachael Dzierzak swam to a third place in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.86) in D-I.
