5 turnovers help Eagles rip Indians

Clay 48, Waite 12

At Waite, Clay's defense forced five turnovers, including three fumbles Friday night in a game that was ended with 8:33 left in the fourth quarter because of weather conditions.

Clay quarterback Josh Pennington finished 11 of 15 passing for 209 yards, passing for two touchdowns and running for another.

Devin Dominique scored two TDs for the Eagles (2-1) and finished with 113 yards on four carries, while Kyle Row caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Damon Dominique and Mouhib Jomaa also scored TDs for Clay.

Waite quarterback Johnny Douanglee finished 17 for 29 passing for 127 yards. Tyler Slawski scored a touchdown for Waite and finished with 119 yards on eight catches.

Cyrron Barringer caught a TD pass.

Southview 44, Start 14

The Cougars got their first win of the year in a rout of the Spartans.

Southview's Damian Greisinger had 74 yards rushing and two scores on the ground (five and three yards). Austin Valdez added 74 yards rushing with a two-yard score to go with 122 yards passing including a 15-yard TD pass to Nate Hall.

Ahmad Parker added a 13-yard TD run for the Cougars (1-2).

Deshawn Woodward had a four-yard rushing score for Start (0-3).

Rogers 20, Columbus Northland 8

COLUMBUS -- Dominic Jones, Milton Roberts, and Josh Taliaferro starred for the Rams' passing game, which racked up 253 yards and three touchdowns as Rogers (2-1) won despite rushing for only seven yards.

Jones completed 13 of 24 passes for 253 yards and three scores. Roberts (6 catches, 93 yards) had TD receptions of 15 and 35 yards as Rogers raced to an early 14-0 lead, taking advantage of a interception and an eight-yard punt.

Taliaferro's 51-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter helped put the game away for Rogers, which held Northland to only 44 yards rushing on 28 attempts. Taliaferro finished with 124 yards on four receptions.
