Green Bears roll to win; Rangers rally in 2nd half

Ottawa Hills 48, Antwerp 0

Will Longthorne ran for touchdowns on runs of 25 and eight yards Friday night for Ottawa Hills in a game ended because of weather conditions with 8 minutes, 41 seconds left.

Judah Wollenburg, who had 10 carries for 80 yards, ran for a 17-yard touchdown and passed to Lucas Janawicz 23 yards for another for the Green Bears (1-2).

Jack Wollenburg grabbed a 11-yard touchdown pass from Jon Rodriquez, and Jack Tansey returned a fumble three yards for another score.

Michael Geiger, who set an Ottawa Hills record with a 48-yard field goal last season, tied the mark with a in the second quarter, then concluded the scoring with a 42-yard field goal at the start of the fourth quarter.

Antwerp is 0-3.

Northwood 35, Hopewell-Loudon 7

The Rangers (3-0) won at home, dominating the second half.

Tailback Jordan Schell ran for 62 yards and scored two touchdowns as Northwood, trailing 7-0, put all their points on the scoreboard after halftime.

Stephen Fuller ripped off a 64-yard scoring run for the Rangers, while Brandon Kretz had a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown. Nick Russell's TD completed the Northwood scoring.

Kevin Coppus gave the Chieftains (2-1) an early advantage, catching a scoring pass from Alec Gregg in the second quarter.

Lakota 12, Stritch 7

At Clay, Tiger Jaso rushed for 112 yards and scored on a 65-yard run to lead the Raiders (2-1).

A 90-yard interception by Kody Brewer put Lakota up for good.

Zach Denomy had a five-yard scoring run for the Cardinals.

Denomy finished with 128 yards rushing for Cardinal Stritch (1-2) in the loss.

Fremont St. Joseph 48, Gibsonburg 6

GIBSONBURG -- Fremont St. Joseph (2-1) romped to victory in a contest called with 11:50 to play due to lightning.

Quarterback Zach Yeckley had a big night, going 7 for 8 for 256 yards and four touchdowns for the Crimson Streaks (2-1). Marcus Kerr led the ground game with 16 carries for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

Jordan Sessler caught two scoring strikes from Yeckley with Luke Stierwalt and Alex Beleba getting one each.

Matt Tille scored the lone touchdown for Gibsonburg (0-3).

Hilltop 14, Holgate 3

WEST UNITY -- Chad Champion scored an 83-yard touchdown in the first quarter and finished with 97 yards on nine carries for Hilltop.

Miklo Abner also scored a touchdown for Hilltop (2-1), an 11-yard run in the second quarter, and finished with 69 yards on 15 carries.

Jakob Gerstung kicked a 27-yard field goal or Holgate (2-1). Chance Gray finished with 71 yards on 17 carries for the Tigers.

Hilltop finished with 227 yards, including 171 yards rushing, in a game that was ended with 6:40 left in the fourth quarter.
