Irish cruise to stay undefeated

Central Catholic 47, Lima Senior 7

LIMA — Amir Edwards scored two touchdowns and ran for 69 yards on seven carries to help Central Catholic remain undefeated.

Edwards scored both TDs in the first half to help the Irish (7-0, 4-0 TRAC) take a 41-0 lead at halftime. Central also scored two touchdowns on fumble recoveries by Jon Balcerzak and Shayne Davis.

Paul Moses scored on a two-yard run, while Sean Sullivan scored on an eight-yard run in the first half. Marquise Walker scored on a five-yard run. The Irish finished with 217 rushing yards.

Cedric Gray had seven carries for 85 yards for Central, while Irish quarterback DeShone Kizer completed two passes for 29 yards. Central’s defense allowed 111 yards rushing.

Juniel Liles scored Lima Senior’s (0-7, 0-4) only touchdown, a two-yard run in the third quarter.


St. John’s 42, Clay 12

Collin Korte rushed 15 times for 95 yards and four touchdowns, and Brogan Roback threw for 252 yards and two TDs to help the Titans (3-4, 3-1).

Korte rushed for scores from 33, 1, 2, and 16 yards out. Roback threw TD passes to Liam Allen and Ben Eddingfield.

Josh Pennington of Clay (3-4, 1-3) passed for 177 yards and a touchdown. Pennington found Damon Dominique for an 85-yard pass and Devin Dominique scored on a three-yard run.


St. Francis 24, Fremont Ross 13

At the Glass Bowl, the Knights (2-5, 1-3) outscored Ross 17-0 in the second half.

St. Francis quarterback David Rees completed 17 of 37 passes for 198 yards and two scoring tosses to Andrew Bonfiglio. Bonfiglio hauled in 11 catches for 148 yards.

John Fudacz had a fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD for the Knights. Drew Stark kicked a field goal.

Tyler Wolf romped 68 yards for a score for Ross (3-4, 1-3). Dylan Jagodzinski caught a touchdown pass from Wolf.
