Jones throws for 4 TDs as Rogers crushes Scott
10/26/2012Dominic Jones led Rogers to a City League victory on Thursday night by throwing for 189 yards and four touchdowns. Jones completed 14 of his 27 passes and threw for scores of 2, 16, 17, and 2 yards.
Taylor McLane opened the scoring by catching a two-yard pass from Jones. Anthony Amison hauled in a 16-yard throw from Jones, and Duane Smith closed Rogers’ scoring with a two-yard touchdown reception from Jones.
The Rams (6-4, 3-2) also had an effective run game, rushing for 156 yards on the night. Jalen Phelps led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 121 yards and a 54-yard touchdown.
Phelps also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Jones. Taron Bates scored on a 12-yard run, and Darrell Coleman returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown.
Day’vontae Russell scored the lone touchdown for Scott (3-7, 1-4) on a 21-yard run.
