ASHLAND, Ohio — The St. Ursula girls soccer team earned a return trip to the state final four Saturday as the Arrows captured a Division II regional championship.

St. Ursula (13-5-3) shutout Bellville Clear Fork 1-0 at Ashland Community Stadium.

Sophomore Allie Farell headed the ball into the back of the net off a corner kick by senior Kyla Sofo in the first half.

Junior goalie Sydney Yeager had four saves to post the shutout.

Yeager recorded her eighth shutout of the season and she has four in five postseason games. Yeager and the Arrow defense have yielded just one goal in the playoffs.

Clear Fork (18-3-0) entered the game as the ninth ranked team in the state.

Farell tallied her sixth goal of the season for the unranked Arrows.

Freshman Jordyn Greer has scored 13 goals and has four assists this season. Greer had scored four of St. Ursula's nine goals in the postseason.

Last season, St. Ursula also defeated Clear Fork (5-2) in the regional championship to reach the final four.

The Arrows advance to play top ranked Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit (18-0-2) in the state semifinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at a site to be determined.

Walsh Jesuit has been ranked No. 1 in Division II the entire season.

St. Ursula defeated Walsh Jesuit 1-0 in the state semifinal last season. The Arrows advanced to the first state title game in program history but they fell 2-0 to Columbus St. Francis DeSales.

“We have a very tough rematch against Walsh Jesuit which will severely test us,” St. Ursula coach Chris Black said. “They are consistently one of the best programs in the state and we are happy to have the opportunity to face them again for a trip back to the state final.”

The Arrows are outscoring opponents 54-21. Walsh Jesuit has scored 64 goals and given up only four.

Walsh Jesuit has lost just once in two years with that lone set back coming against St. Ursula last season. The Warriors won a Division I state title in 2010.
