NAPOLEON — Napoleon used a balanced offensive attack and a good defensive effort to win in the opening round of the Division III playoffs.
Nate Rohrs opened the scoring for the Wildcats with a 45-yard fumble recovery and return for a touchdown. Charlie Harris and Jordan Lauf added touchdowns on the ground from seven and 18 yards, respectively. Joey Devaul kicked a 20-yard field goal, and David Yunker tossed a four-yard touchdown to Zach Fielder to close the scoring.
David Yunker completed 10 of 19 passes for 96 yards and an interception.
Bryant Schlade led the ground game for Napoleon with 14 carries for 51 yards. Harris added 14 carries for 47 yards.
Lauf was the leading receiver for the Wildcats with three catches for 42 yards.
The Napoleon defense held River Valley to 131 yards of total offense and a lone touchdown.

BRYAN — Austin Schimmoeller controlled the game for Bryan, passing for 233 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for two scores in the Division III playoffs.
Schimmoeller threw TD passes of four, nine, and 27 yards and ran in from one and 27 yards, respectively. The Bryan defense was opportunistic forcing four Watterson turnovers including a 45-yard fumble recovery and return for a touchdown by Dakota McNany.
