Girls basketball roundups: Northview, Anthony Wayne post victories in NLL games

Northview 43, Napoleon 36

At Northview, the Wildcats outscored Napoleon in the second quarter 19-12 after a deadlocked first quarter and held on for a Northern Lakes League girls basketball victory.

Kendall McCoy and Maddie Cole each scored 10 points for Northview (2-1, 1-1 NLL).

Lindsay Ferguson topped Napoleon (2-1, 1-1) with 8 points.

Anthony Wayne 59, Springfield 38

Megan Bedard scored 15 points to lead Anthony Wayne to the win at Springfield.

Anthony Wayne held Springfield to two points in the first quarter, en route to a 29-15 lead at halftime.

Natalie Yoder and Sydney Powhida each scored 14 points for Springfield, which went 12 for 26 on free throws.

Perrysburg 55, Southview 32

At Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets (2-0) shutout the Cougars in the first quarter to build an 11-point lead before expanding on it to lead 24-11 at the break.

Emily Baer paced a well-balanced scoring attack for Perrysburg with 12 points while Allex Brown added nine.

Southview's Taryn Stanley led all scorers with 13.

Fayette 53, Pettisville 51

FAYETTE — Kaela Seiler scored 13 points, Taylor Griffiths scored 11 and Mikayla Smith added 10 to lead Fayette (2-0).

Lauren Hostetler paced Pettisville (1-2) with 26 points, including six 3-pointers. Dana Fricke added 11 points for the Blackbirds.

Swanton 41, Montpelier 31

SWANTON — Swanton (1-2, 1-0) earned a NWOAL win behind Bethann Lumbrezer’s 11 points.

Lauren Dye led Montpelier (1-2, 0-1) with 18 points, including 10 free-throws.

Eastwood 45, Otsego 40

PEMBERVILLE — Presley Weaver scored 14 points and Kelsey Weaver added 11 to lead Eastwood (1-2, 1-0).

Morgan McCullough and Kim Forshey led Otsego (1-2, 0-1) with 11 points each and Jessica Roberts added 10 points.

Elmwood 62, Fostoria 43

FOSTORIA —- Brittany Gross scored 20 points for Elmwood (2-0, 1-0).

Jada Hampton led Fostoria (0-2, 0-1) with 18 points.

Archbold 83, Liberty Center 32

ARCHBOLD —- Cassidy Wyse scored 17 points and Taylor Coressel added 13 for Archbold.

Nikki Meyer led Liberty Center with 11 points.

Wauseon 38, Evergreen 26

WAUSEON-Natalie Koenig led Wauseon (2-1, 1-0) to a league win with nine points, while Alyssa Read added 8 points.

Haili Mossing scored 12 points to lead Evergreen (1-2, 0-1).
