Area Boys: Lake tallies 28 for Bobcats; Lamb ignites Mules to win

Whiteford 72,Whitmore Lake 46

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. — Colin Lake scored 28 points to help Whiteford to a home victory Friday night in Tri-County Conference boys basketball.

Zach Perry chipped in with 18 points for the Bobcats, who led 37-22 at halftime then had a 24-13 edge in the third quarter.

Chris White led Whitmore Lake with 13 points.

Bedford 72, Woodhaven 43

WOODHAVEN — The Mules (2-0) sprinted to a 26-10 first-quarter edge.

Jackson Lamb had 21 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks for Bedford. Jeremy Harris added 13 points and eight rebounds.

Woodhaven was led by Donnie Stoddard’s 13 points. Donovan Williams added 12.

TRAC: Titans, Panthers roll

St. John’s 67,Fremont Ross 40

FREMONT — Marc Loving led four St. John’s players in double figures with 21 points to help the Titans (3-0) win Friday night in Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball.

Austin Gardner, Tyler Thompson, and Anthony Glover each chipped in with 10 points for the Titans.

Jack Gedeon paced Fremont Ross (3-1) with 10 points.

St. John’s raced out to a 33-15 lead at the half and never looked back.

Whitmer 54,Findlay 44

After one quarter at home, the Panthers found themselves behind 12-8.

In the second quarter Nigel Hayes scored 13 of his game-high 21 points, including three 3-poiners, to help Whitmer go on a 23-12 run take a 31-24 lead into halftime.

Ricardo Smith and Chris Parker each finished with 10 points for Whitmer (2-1, 1-1 TRAC).

Austin Gutting led Findlay (1-2, 0-1) with 17 points, while Adam Twining had 13 for the Trojans.

Lima Senior 86,Clay 72

LIMA — Devon Allen led Lima Senior (4-1, 2-0) with 28 points, including five 3-pointers, while Ruben Flowers scored 19 and De’Jorr Gibson 13.

Patrick Booth made four 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 29 points for Clay (0-2, 0-2).

Jack Nagy scored 13 and James Demeo added 10 for the Eagles.

TAAC: Balance helps Bears top Hawks

Ottawa Hills 65,Maumee Valley 45

At Ottawa Hills, the Green Bears owned the second quarter by a 16-5 margin as they breezed to the victory Friday night in Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball.

Geoff Beans, Ben Silverman, and Lucas Janowicz each scored 13 points for Ottawa Hills (3-0), while R.J. Coil contributed 12.

Davey Brown topped Maumee Valley with 15 points, while Caleb Willhight chipped in with 14.

Toledo Christian 82,Gibsonburg 47

The host Eagles outscored Gibsonburg by at least seven points in each quarter.

Eric Cellier had 23 points to lead the Eagles (3-1), while Melvin Thomas added 19 points.

Gibsonburg's Tyler Ernsthausen tallied 22 points, while Andrew Cantrell had 10.

Cardinal Stritch 64,Emmanuel Christian 41

Austin Adams paced the Cardinals to a road win with 21 points.

Joey Cousino provided 13 points for Stritch (1-3, 1-2 TAAC).

Emmanuel (5-1, 2-1) suffered its first loss despite Ryan Creech scoring 19 points.

Northwood 60,Danbury 32

LAKESIDE — Tyler Williams scored 16 to lead the Rangers, while Jacob Zieroff, Michael Autman, and John Segura each added 10.

Dylan Buckley had 10 to lead the Lakers.
