Big 2nd quarter helps lift Cougars

Southview 44,Northview 41

A strong second quarter propeled Southview to a victory Friday night in Northern Lakes League girls basketball.

Southview (6-2, 6-1 NLL) trailed 8-6 after the first quarter, but stormed to a 25-18 lead at halftime.

Taryn Stanley led the Cougars with 14 points, while Maria Pappas added 11.

Kendall McCoy had a team-high 13 for Northview (5-3, 4-3).

Bowling Green 57,Napoleon 39

NAPOLEON — Haley Glandorff scored 15 points to lead the Bobcats.

Chelsea Morlock had 13 and Tyanna Smith added 11 for Bowling Green.

Kayla Gerken topped the Wildcats with 16, while Lindsay Ferguson added 12.

Springfield 55, Maumee 22

Sydney Powhida scored 14 points and Natalie Yader added 13 more as the Blue Devils cruised to a NLL home victory.

Springfield started quick, leading 10-1 through one quarter and 29-13 at halftime to set the tone. Ten Blue Devils scored on a night where the Blue Devils went 14 for 20 at the foul line.

Joeal Olman led Maumee with 10 points.

Patriots edge Vikings with late-game run

Patrick Henry 44, Evergreen 38

METAMORA — Kelsey Tietje scored 15 points to lead the Patriots in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls basketball game.

Katy Hammer added 11 for Patrick Henry (9-0), which scored the game’s final six points.

Kendalyn Noe led Evergreen (2-6), which trailed 26-23 at halftime, with 14 points.

Wauseon 49, Swanton 26

SWANTON — Alyssa Reed scored 13 points and Annette Stidham added 12 points for Wauseon (6-3, 4-0).

Emily Callicotte led the way for Swanton (4-4, 2-2) with six points.

Archbold 49, Montpelier 24

ARCHBOLD — Cassidy Wyse led the Blue Streaks with 14 points.

Archbold (9-1, 4-0) led 17-9 at halftime before going on a 16-5 run in the third quarter to break the game open.

Malorie Yagelski scored 10 points to lead Montpelier (3-6, 0-3).

Mules knock off Adrian

Bedford 35, Adrian 23

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Mules scored nearly half of their points at the free-throw line, going 17 for 33 to win Friday night in Southeastern Conference girls basketball.

Lindsey Shepherd paced Bedford (5-1) with 12 points. Nicole Rightnowar had eight points, 12 rebounds, five steals, and five assists.

Adrian (1-4) was held to two points in both the first and fourth quarters.
