First quarter leads Irish past Indians; Maumee rolls past Springfield

Central Catholic 75, Waite 53

Vistiting Central Catholic used a 29-7 first quarter to put away the host Indians in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Deontae Cole and Keith Towbridge led the Irish (7-0) with 15 points each. Nate Harris added 14 points and DeShone Kizer scored 10.

Taywyn Mason paced Waite (0-11) with 24 points and Alfred Sanchez added 10 points.

Maumee 52, Springfield 38

The Panthers rolled at home, using a 20-13 fourth-quarter to advance to 9-1, 4-1 in the Northern Lakes League.

Dominique King led Maumee with 18 points. Sam Kamer added 10.

Markese Hicks topped the Blue Devils (6-4, 2-3) with 12 points.

Toledo Christian 52, Clay 43

The Eagles won at home, excelling from the free throw line.

Toledo Christian made 21 of 27 foul shots for the game and 12 of 13 in the fourth quarter.

Dominique Pittman scored 15 points, Josh Winzeler 14, and Eric Cellier 10 for the winners (9-1).

Jack Nagy paced Clay (0-8) with 24 points.

Maumee Valley 43, Hilltop 42

Solomon Collins grabbed a rebound of his own missed shot, was fouled, and made two free throws with 0.9 seconds to play to lift host Maumee Valley to the victory.

Collins finished with 13 points while Davey Brown topped the Hawks with 19.

Erik Stipe led Hilltop (2-7, 0-2) with 15 points.

Bowling Green 65, Napoleon 53

BOWLING GREEN — Andrew Herringshaw scored 22 points to lead the Bobcats to an NLL victory.

Vitto Brown added 17 points and 14 rebounds for Bowling Green (4-7).

Jordan Lauf poured in 30 points to pace Napoleon (3-5).

Adrian Madison 58, Whiteford 48

ADRIAN, Mich. — Justin Webster scored 21 points as Adrian Madison topped the Bobcats.

Colin Slates added 17 and Zack Mellon 16 for Madison (6-2).

Colin Lake scored 23 points for Whiteford (5-2), while Zach Perry added 12 points.
