Elmwood gets defensive in win; Westmeyer leads Toledo Christian

Elmwood 43, Fostoria 29

BLOOMVILLE — The Elmwood girls basketball team forced 33 turnovers to remain undefeated in the Northern Buckeye Conference on Thursday.

Brittany Gross led all scorers with 14 points for Elmwood (13-0, 7-0).

Tiffany Hillard chipped in with 10 points for the Royals.

Erica Moore scored a team-high 10 points for Fostoria (0-14, 0-8).

Toledo Christian 59, Cardinal Stritch 49

Darian Westmeyer pumped in 24 points to lead all scorers as the visiting Eagles built a 32-15 lead at the half.

Faith Johnson added 10 in the win for Toledo Christian (12-2, 8-0 TAAC).

Abby Mass scored 19 points in the loss for the Cardinals (7-7, 4-4), Cecelia Gozdowski had 15, and Maggie Merren 11.

Clay 51, Fremont Ross 45

The Eagles won at home, converting five of nine shots from three-point territory, and 16 of 24 foul shots.

Morgan Connor led the way for Clay (5-11 overall, 3-5 TRAC) with 18 points while Sam Enck added 12.

Abbi Hasselbach paced Ross with 12 points.

Findlay 50, Central Catholic 33

Taylor Stanfield and Christina McQueen each had double-doubles in the home win for the Trojans.

Stanfield scored 20 while pulling down 10 rebounds, McQueen had 12 with a team-high 11 boards and four blocked shots.

Nicole Muehl added 11 points and nine rebounds for Findlay (11-3, 7-1 TRAC).

For Central (8-5, 5-3), Deonna Murdock had nine points.

Rogers 77, Wauseon 40

The Rams extended a 13-point lead into a 58-28 advantage after three quarters and coasted to the home win.

Charon Sweeney paced Rogers (11-2) with 21 points. Sasha Dailey and Akienreh Johnson each had 14 while Toriana Easley had 10 for the Rams.

SariahYackee tallied 14 points and Alyssa Reed chipped in with 13 points for Wauseon (9-5).

Lima Sr. 70, St. Ursula 63

Lima won on the road as Indiya Benjamin scored 17 points, Stacia Allen 16, Essence Cowan 13 and Caterrion Thompson 11.

Allie Farell led St. Ursula with 14 points, Maurissa Leonard and Megan Burns added 11 and Marge Rode 10.

Gibsonburg 30, Maumee Valley 18

GIBSONBURG — Marissa Alvarado scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Golden Bears over Maumee Valley Country Day School in TAAC play. Danielle Fork also had seven boards for the Bears (4-3).

Kennedie Jackson paced Maumee Valley (0-8) with eight points. Teammate Miranda Vargas had 12 rebounds.

Woodmore 51, Rossford 44

ELMORE — The Bulldogs pulled within one point in the fourth quarter but the Wildcats scored the seven of the next nine points to pull away.

MacKenzie Johnson led Woodmore (8-7, 5-3 NBC) with 15 points.

Courtney Morris tallied 20 points and Alaina Mitchell had 11 for Rossford (8-6, 5-3).

Eastwood 49, Otsego 48

TONTOGANY — The Eagles won behind Diana Bushman’s 24 points. Eastwood coach Gary Lemle captured his 100th career victory.

Morgan Smoyer and Jessica Roberts each scored 14 for the Knights.

Evergreen 62, Liberty Center 51

LIBERTY CENTER — Carly Truckor scored a team-high 17 points for the Vikings.

Haili Mossing and Kendalyn each had 15 points for Evergreen (7-7, 2-3 NWOAL).

Niki Meyer poured in a game-high 23 points for the Tigers (1-12, 0-6).

Lake 51, Genoa 39

GENOA — Sara Dabney scored a game-high 19 points and Jordyn Taylor tallied 18 for the Flyers.

Lake improved to 7-9 overall and 5-3 in the NBC.

Ciara Albright paced Genoa (6-7, 3-4) with 17 points.

Ottawa Hills 46, Northwood 16

Foster Smither paced the Green Bears (6-2) with nine points and Olivia VanSlooten added seven rebounds for Ottawa Hills.

Northwood's (2-7) Kelly Sawmiller two points had seven rebounds.

Danbury 36, Emmanuel Christian 19

Erin Lavelle led Danbury (5-8, 5-2 TAAC) with eight points.

Emmanuel Christian (3-7, 2-6) was paced by Chelsea Graham’s eight points.
