Central holds off Clay; Whitmer tops St. Ursula

Central Catholic 47, Clay 41

The Irish hit 7 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter Monday night to withstand a rally by the host Eagles, who had cut the lead to two late in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls basketball game.

Demi Russell scored 16 points for Central Catholic (10-6, 7-3). Michelle Murnen added 10.

Clay (5-13, 3-7 TRAC) was led by Kayla Schaefer’s 11 points. Morgan Kovacs had 10.

Whitmer 45, St. Ursula 37

The Panthers won on the road with a 23-5 made free throw advantage.

Abby Sarabia led the way with 15 points for Whitmer (12-6, 5-5).

The Arrows (6-10, 1-9) were paced by Megan Christopher and Ally Farell with eight.

Rogers 87, Start 31

Sasha Dailey had 22 points to lead the visiting Rams, who clinched the top seed for the City League playoffs.

Charon Sweeney scored 13 points for Rogers (14-3, 9-0 CL), Marquelle Williams finished with 11 points, and Toriana Easley added 10.

Jasmine Bobo led Start (10-7, 7-2) with 13 points.

Waite 57, Bowsher 35

The Indians (6-9,. 5-4 CL) get the road win behind KreAna Henry with 15 points, Latisha Craig with 12, and Taylor Works with 11.

For the Rebels (4-12, 3-6), Celeste Wade scored 17.

Fayette 66, Sand Creek 44

FAYETTE — The Eagles outscored Sand Creek 22-8 during the third quarter to pull away.

Kaela Seiler scored 14 points to lead the Eagles (14-3). Ashtyn Baker finished with 12 points and Alexis Fruchey added 11.

Elizabeth Herriman led Sand Creek with 19 points. Gabrielle Herriman added 10.

Fostoria St. Wendelin 48, Cardinal Stritch 34

Colleen Fondessy poured in 20 points and Heather Saalman added 11 for the Mohawks (12-7).

Abby Mass led the Cardinals (8-8) with 11.

Hilltop 41, Evergreen 36

METAMORA — The Cadets outscored Evergreen 12-6 in the fourth quarteh.

Hannah Bleikamp led Hilltop with 17 points, while Emily Armbruster had 12.

Haili Mossing finished with 15 points to lead Evergreen (8-9).
