Hotz’s 23 points help propel Rossford to win over Genoa; Fremont St. Joseph boys win

GIRLS

Rossford 56, Genoa 46

GENOA — Julie Hotz tossed in a game-high 23 points to lift Rossford over Genoa in a Northern Buckeye Conference contest on the Comets’ home court Thursday.

Teammates Alrina Mitchell contributed 12 and Courtney Morris 11.

Genoa’s Ciara Albright led the Comets with 20 points, and Haley Pickaco added 12.

Northwood 34, Gibsonburg 32

Northwood and Gibsonburg finished the first half tied at seven in a game that went into overtime before the Rangers sealed the deal by 2 points.

Northwood’s Megan Roach hit a game and team high of 15 points, eight from the free-throw line.

Amanda Shammo hit 12, and Marisa Alvarado added 11 for the Golden Bears.

Gibsonburg’s Shammo, Lauren Rahe, and Brittney Holcomb each contributed six rebounds, while Kristi Sawmiler and Roach also grabbed six boards for Northwood.

Northwood is 7-12 and 5-6 in the TAAC; Gibsonburg is 2-14, 3-8.

Lima Senior 49, Central Catholic 46

The game was tied at 39 after three quarters and Lima Senior outscored the Irish 10-7 in the fourth for a road win.

India Benjamin scored 16 points for the Spartans (11-6), and Essence Cowan added 13.

Demi Russell scored 16 points to lead Central Catholic (10-7), while Michelle Murnen had 12 and Keytha Foreman 10.

Perrysburg 93, Maumee 43

Abby Sattler’s 22 points led Perrysburg in a runaway home win.

Sarah Baer and Alexx Brown added 16 points and Maddy Williams 10 for the Yellow Jackets (15-1).

Joeal Olman scored 22 points for Maumee (0-16).

Archbold 55, Continental 35

CONTINENTAL — Cassidy Wyse popped in 15 point, and Jesse Fidler contributed 12 to lift the Bluestreaks over Continental in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League contest on the Pirates’ home court.

Facing solid defensive play, Continental struggled in the first two frames, gathering only 11 points going into the half. Vanessa Koppenhofer was the Pirates’ high scorer with 8.

Archbold is 17-1, and undefeated after seven league games. Continental is 12-5 overall.

Emmanuel Christian 41, Maumee Valley 35

Mackenzie McCauley scored 16 points as Emmanuel Christian (5-9) outscored Maumee Valley 24-19 in the second half to hang on for a road win.

Miranda Vargas scored 11 points to pace Maumee Valley (0-15) and Cammie Lonsway added 10.

Cardinal Stritch 50, Danbury 34

The Cardinals, spurred by a 26-point performance from Abby Mass, won at home.

Mass made 13 of 15 foul shots, and Stritch was 20 of 25 as a team. The Cardinals move to 9-8 overall, 7-4 in the TAAC.

Erin Lavelle scored 10 for Danbry (9-10, 8-3).

Toledo Christian 46, Ottawa Hills 23

The Eagles took a 24-11 lead into the half and never looked back in the home win.

Darian Westmeyer scored a game-high 16 points, and Faith Johnson added 10 for Toledo Christian (15-3, 11-0 TAAC).

Ottawa Hills (9-6, 7-3) was led by Lilly Petro’s six points.

Northview 61, Bowling Green 30

Kendall Jessing totaled 12 points and as many rebounds for the Wildcats (9-7, 8-4 NLL), who captured the home win.

Mackenzie Riggs also scored 12 while Maddie Cole supplied 10 for Northview.

Hanna Williford’s 10 points led the Bobcats (11-8, 6-6).

Evergreen 35, Montpelier 25

METAMORA — Carly Truckor scored 13 points and Haili Mossing added 12 for the Vikings (9-9).

Hannah Blake led Montpelier (7-11) with 15 points.

Fayette 68, Stryker 53

FAYETTE — Ashtyn Baker led four Eagles in double figures with 17 points.

Mikayla Smith added 16, Taylor Griffiths 13 and Kaela Feiler 11.

Connor Varner scored 26 points to lead Stryker.

Elmwood 69, Eastwood 34

PEMBERVILLE — Brittany George had a game-high 19 points to lead the visiting Royals (16-1, 10-0 NBC).

Kristen Curtis and Brittany Gross added 13 points apiece for Elmwood, while Kelsey Weaver paced the Eagles (5-11, 4-7) with 10 points.

Springfield 46, Napoleon 35

Natalie Yoder poured in a game-high 20 points as the Blue Devils to cruised to the home win.

Yoder knocked down three 3 pointers and Springfield (8-11, 3-9) extended a six-point lead at the half into a 20-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Courtney Smith paced Napoleon (3-15, 2-10) with 12 points.

Whitmer 57, Clay 39

Keshyra McCarver poured in 25 points to lead Whitmer to a home win.

Abby Sarabia added 12 for the Panthers. The lone senior for Whitmer, Jordyn Blood, scored eight points on senior night.

Samantha Enck led Clay with 14 points.

Woodmore 51, Fostoria 34

ELMORE—Allie Wank tossed in 18 points to pace the Wildcats (11-7, 7-2 NBC).

Alexus Smith scored 11 points for the Redmen.

Findlay 54, Fremont Ross 41

FINDLAY — Taylor Stanfield finished with a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Trojans.

Nicole Muehl chipped in with 15 for Findlay (14-4, 9-2 TRAC).

Abbi Hasselbach scored 19 points for Fremont Ross (4-13, 0-11).

Wauseon 47, Delta 41

WAUSEON — Alyssa Reed scored 17 points and Annette Stidham added 15 to lead Wauseon (13-6, 6-1) in an NWOAL contest.

Brigan Wymer led Delta (13-5, 4-3) with 14 points.

Bryan 47, Swanton 29

BRYAN — Hannah Schimmoeller scored 17 points to help Bryan to a win in the NWOAL.

Makayla Dennis and Alexa Brown added 12 points each for the Golden Bears.

Bethann Lumbrezer paced Swanton with eight ponts.

Fremont St. Joseph 59, Lakota 45

KANSAS — Hunter Harrison scored 13 points to lead Fremont St. Joseph.

Jordan Sessler and Connor Dudley added 10 each for the Streaks (13-4).

Kody Brewer and Colin Timmons both scored 18 points to lead Lakota (4-12).
