Dewire scores 23, sparks Green Bears’ rally

Ottawa Hills 48, Hilltop 44

WAUSEON — Sophomore Allie Dewire scored 19 of her game-high 23 points after halftime, leading the Green Bears to a comeback victory in girls basketball Tuesday night.

Dewire, who missed five of the past six games because of injury, hit 10 field goals. Olivia VanSlooten added nine points for Ottawa Hills (12-10).

Hannah Bleikamp scored nine points to lead a balanced attack for Hilltop, which led 28-20 at halftime but was outscored 16-2 during the third quarter.

Stryker 56, Maumee Valley 22

WAUSEON — The Panthers jumped out to a 27-4 lead as Conner Varneiz scored 23 and Conner Sullivan had 18.

The Hawks were led by Kennedie Jackson with 10.

Fremont St. Joseph 45, Danbury 37

ELMORE — Cassidy Frank scored nine of her game-high 13 points in the first half, when the Streaks established a lead during its win.

Be Reardon added 10 points for Fremont St. Joseph (10-13), which led 18-12 at halftime and controlled the tempo.

Stephanie Kukay finished with 11 points for Danbury (10-13). Erin Lavelle added 10.

TEMPERANCE — Rachel Lewandowski paced the Mules (14-5) with 16 points.
