Tierra Floyd

■ School: Notre Dame

■ Class: Sophomore

■ Height: 6-0

■ Position: Guard/Forward

■ Key stats: Her best days on a basketball court figure to be in the super sophomore’s future. With that in mind, the Eagles’ top all-around talent came back from a season-ending knee injury in her freshman year to play at a high level. Her ballhandling, passing and understanding of the game makes her plenty special to have college recruiters already interested. She averaged 10.9 points and 7.4 rebounds while holding the responsibility of running the offense. She has led Notre Dame to the Division I state semifinals. The Eagles (25-3) won a second straight Three Rivers Athletic Conference title.

■ Coach says: “Tierra Floyd has tremendous skill set. She go inside and outside. She handles the ball well and can shoot the 3 well. She does a good job of taking what the defense gives her and making people better. She finds ways for us to win. She will do what the defense will allow. If she has to go out and get 10 assists she’ll get 10 assists. If she has to score 20 points, she’ll score 20 points. She has that kind of skill set. There’s definitely college basketball in her future. I give her a ton of credit for all of the hard work she’s put in to come back from her injury. She put in a lot of 5 a.m. morning workout sessions. Going into the season we always knew she would recover, but we just didn’t know how quickly she would recover. Without her on the court, we wouldn’t be where we are right now.” — Notre Dame coach Travis Galloway
