Whitmer softball team sets home run record

Panthers hits 27 homers in 27 games

The Whitmer softball team set a team record by hitting 27 home runs in 27 games for the season.

Senior Tori Weidinger and junior Makayla Taylor led the way with five home runs apiece. They were among eight players to hit a home run.

Kendra Pratt and Mallory Rao recorded four home runs each, Kylie Kretz and Meghan Franz added three apiece, Olivia Combs two and Jordan Hanf one.

The effort ranks fourth all-time in the Ohio. Archbold ranks No. 1 with 39 homers in 2012.
