ABOUT THE TEAM:

Coach: Marek Moldawsky, third season

Last season: 3-7, 1-6 NLL

Returning letter winners: 18

Returning starters: Offense 8, defense 8

Schemes: Spread/3-5

Top players: Senior Jake Bilek, 6-1, 219, WR-OLB; Corey Donnelly, 5-11, 186, RB.

Outlook: On offense, the Wildcats have four returners on the line with two sophomores and a junior. The starting tight end and running back also are back. Returning letter winners also are back at wideout and slot back.

At quarterback, a junior and sophomore are battling for the right to start.

“Both have been impressive in different ways,” Moldawsky said. “One has an arm and the other can run. Either direction we go will be a good one.”

Defensively three are back along the line and three senior linebackers also return. Two letter winners also saw significant time in the defensive backfield.

“We're looking for an 'X,' on offense” Moldawsky said. “We think we have an answer with a junior and we think he's going to be really good down the stretch.”

Northview is 6-14 overall, 2-12 in the NLL in Moldawsky’s two season.

“The leadership is the best I've seen here,” he said. “Even though overall team numbers are up, depth may still be a problem. If we stay healthy, I expect to be in every game. I don't believe we will be the smallest team in the league anymore.”
