Bermejo, Davenport pace Northwood past Edon

Northwood 40, Edon 27

Dominik Bermejo ran for 170 yards and three touchdowns Friday night while Jake Davenport added 100 rushing yards and another score to lead the host Rangers in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference victory.

Bermejo scored on runs of 3, 25, and 42 yards, while Davenport added a 53-yard scoring run for Northwood (2-2, 1-0 TAAC). Each also grabbed a TD pass from quarterback Michael Vallejo, who was 2-for-2 passing for 118 yards. Bermejo caught a 35-yard pass, while Davenport added an 83-yard scoring strike.

Edon (2-2, 0-1) was led by quarterback Kaden Sapp, who completed 15-of-27 passes for 163 yards and three TDs while running for 77 yards on 14 attempts.

Sapp connected with Connor Hug on scoring strikes of 11 and 50 yards and also hit Brock Thiel with a 31-yard TD toss.

The Bombers also got a 30-yard touchdown run from Trevor Green.

 

Gibsonburg 29, Ottawa Hills 0

The Golden Bears (2-2, 1-0) rolled on the road, as quarterback Matt Tille tossed two touchdown passes.

Tille threw to Isiah Arriaga for an eight-yard score in the second quarter, while Adam Copley was on the receiving end of a 21-yard strike from Tille in the third.

Josh Dyer and Troy Ickes completed the Gibsonburg scoring with two fourth-quarter tallies, Dyer scoring on a 13-yard dash and Ickes a nine-yard run.

Tille completed 11 of 22 yards for 189 yards. Derek Angelone had six receptions for 78 yards for the Golden Bears.

Andrew Boesel paced the Green Bears (0-4, 0-1) with 8 carries for 64 yards.

 

Toledo Christian 25, Hilltop 10

WEST UNITY — The Eagles were led by Brett Freeman's 105 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

Freeman three for one score, a 17-yard pass in the second quarter to Caleb Wotring to give Toledo Christian (2-2, 1-0) a 25-0 lead at the half.

After a team safety, Miklo Abner scored a four-quarter touchdown for the Cadets (1-3, 0-1) for the team's lone offensive score.
