Carswell’s 225 yards ignite St. Francis

St. Francis 30,St. John’s 13

The Knights racked up 493 yards of total offense Friday night to knock off the rival Titans in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference opener.

Lamar Carswell rushed for 225 yards on 25 attempts and scored on a 29-yard run. St. Francis (3-1, 1-0 TRAC) finished with 307 rushing yards.

David Nees completed 9 of 15 passes for 186 yards. Steven David had four catches for 130 yards. Andrew Bonofilgio had a 29-yard TD catch.

St. John's had 323 total yards (212 rushing and 111 passing)

The Titans' Collin Korte had 19 rushes for 98 yards. QB Nolan Silberhorn had 10 carries for 81 yards and threw for 111 yards.

Kicker Matt Dominique connected on field goals of 34 and 27 yards for St. John's (0-4, 0-1).

 

Findlay 41, Clay 20

At Clay, Findlay spotted the Eagles two early touchdowns and trailed 20-7 after the first quarter, then its offense came to life.

The Trojans (2-2, 1-0) scored 20 in the second quarter and 14 in the fourth as Austin Gutting rambled for 240 yards and three touchdowns and Brandon Muehl tossed touchdown strikes to Joe Hammond, Dakota Feay and Nick Kairys. Muehl finished 27-of-37 passing for 248 yards.

With the score 27-20 in the third, Findlay recovered a fumble on the Trojan 1-yard line, then proceeded to march 99 yards, culminating on an eight-yard score by Gutting.

For Clay (2-2, 0-1) Josh Pennington rushed for 153 yards including TD runs of 39 and 80, while passing for 184 yards including a 67-yard TD toss to Kyle Row.

 

Lima Senior 13, Fremont Ross 12

LIMA — One week after snapping a 20-game losing streak by winning at Piqua, Lima Senior got its first ever TRAC win by edging Fremont Ross.

Justice Graham threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Graham in the fourth quarter, and the Spartans (2-2, 1-0) held on. Juniel Liles scored Lima’s first TD on 22-yard run.

Ross (2-2, 0-1) got first half-TD runs of 15 yards from Jeffery Barnett and 12 yards from Devante Daniels.
