Snowden’s 188 yards rushing leads Eastwood

Eastwood 40, Woodmore 12

ELMORE — Devin Snowden ran 26 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles rolled in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener Friday night.

Snowden’s scores, covering 20 and 18 yards, made it 14-0 early in the second quarter. Eastwood (3-1, 1-0 NLL) extended the lead from there.

Brennan Seifert added a 25-yard TD run, Brent Schlumbohm (seven carries, 88 yards) scored on a 49-yard run, and Grant Geiser caught a 36-yard TD pass from Jake Schmeltz. Lucas McCullough booted field goals from 28 and 29 yards.

Woodmore (3-1, 0-1) scored on 30-yard run by Tony Rozzi, who had 87 yards on five carries, and a 22-yard run by Jake Matwiejczyk (18 carries, 56 yards).

 

Genoa 40, Rossford 6

Casey Gose and David Nutter combined for 239 rushing yards and five touchdowns as the Comets cruised to the road victory.

Gose gained 137 yards on just six carries and scored on runs of 23 and five yards. He also returned a kickoff 65 yards for a TD. Nutter added 102 rushing yards on 17 attempts and had scoring runs of 13 and seven yards for Genoa, which finished with 322 yards rushing on 40 carries.

Quentin Spiess also caught a 64-yard TD toss from Logan Scott as the Comets (4-0, 1-0 NBC) led 22-0 after one quarter and 34-6 at halftime.

Rossford (2-2, 0-1) scored its lone touchdown in the second quarter on a two-yard run by Dylan Losiewicz, who finished with 66 yards on 15 carries.

 

Elmwood 34, Fostoria 16

BLOOMDALE — Austin Isaacs rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns for Elmwood.

Isaacs scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards. Noah Baker scored on a two-yard TD run and Aaron Arnold scampered in from four yards out for a score.

Sawyer Haines recovered a fumble for a TD.

Maurice Haskins scored on runs of 10 and 20 yards for Fostoria and racked up 111 yards rushing on 17 carries.
