TAAC Football: Davenport’s 3 touchdowns help Rangers rout Cadets

Northwood 55, Hilltop 20

Jake Davenport scored three touchdowns as Northwood rolled at home Friday night in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference game..

Davenport rushed for an 11-yard TD, caught a 22-yard TD pass from quarterback Michael Vallejo, and returned a kickoff 81 yards for a score for the Rangers (4-2, 3-0 TAAC).

Vallejo threw a TD strike to Dominik Bermejo for 26 yards and Bermejo returned an interception for a 16-yard score. Vallejo also rushed for a three-yard TD. Jacob Zieroff rushed in from one-yard out and Evan Laplante found Joey Woody on a 60-yard pass for a score.

David Scott of Hilltop (1-5, 0-3) rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Quinn Smith threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Logan Brooker for a score.

Toledo Christian 22, Danbury 17

Brett Freeman powered the Eagles to a victory over the Lakers at Perrysburg.

Freeman ran for three touchdowns (39, 8, 10 yards) and finished with 180 yards rushing for Toledo Christian (4-2, 3-0).

Seth Vargo had a 35-yard touchdown pass to James Dorko for Danbury (2-4, 1-2), while Cody German scored on a three-yard run.

Gibsonburg 32, Cardinal Stritch 0

GIBSONBURG — Matt Tille passed for 201 yards and two touchdowns as Gibsonburg (3-3, 2-1) cruised.

Tille hit Isiah Arriaga on a 40-yard TD strike and Adam Copley hauled in a two-yard TD pass.

Josh Dyer rushed for a 10-yard score and Arriaga returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Alex Garcia kicked a 27-yard field goal for the Golden Bears.

Cardinal Stritch (0-6, 0-3) only managed 155 yards of total offense.

Edon 42, Ottawa Hills 0

EDON — Kaden Sapp threw four TD passes and ran for another, leading the Bombers (4-2, 2-1). He completed 12 of 17 passes for 218 yards.

Sapp’s TD passes covered 24 yards to Colten Lyman, 16 yards to Trevor Green (two TD runs), 32 yards to Conner Hug (six catches, 120 yards), and seven yards to Brock Thiel.

Andrew Boesel ran for 109 yards on 19 carries for the Green Bears (1-5, 1-2), who were outgained 291-149.
