Gilmore has 99-yard TD run; McCurdy ignites Northiew victory

Keith Gilmore rushed for 159 yards including a 99-yard touchdown run Friday night as Southview defeated Maumee in a Northern Lakes League game.

Cougars (4-3, 3-1 NLL) quarterback Griffin McDonald was 9 of 20 passing for 124 yards and a 25-yard touchdown pass to Nate Hall. Samuel Stout added a 14-yard TD run and JaQuan Bowers returned an interception 29 yards for a score.

Maumee's Darius Ray caught a 10-yard TD pass from Jordan Spellis. Spellis finished 8 of 22 for 115 yards passing. Alex Wagener added a 37-yard field goal for the Panthers (2-5, 1-3).

Northview 42,Bowling Green 28

Preston McCurdy scored three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to their first league win of the season.

McCurdy rushed for 118 yards and a score while also catching an 11-yard touchdown pass from Brendan Pierson. He scored on a 90-yard kickoff return in the first quarter.

Corey Donnelly rushed for 230 yards on 14 carries and added two scores for Northview (2-5, 1-3) while Derek Hulliberger tacked on a 33-yard interception return.

Ryan Emans caught nine catches for 176 yards with two scores, while Ricky Riggs was 15 of 28 for 220 yards.

David Espen finished with 100 yards rushing on 15 carries for the Bobcats (2-5, 1-3).

Napoleon 31,Springfield 7

NAPOLEON — Bryant Schlade and Devon Armour combined to run for 230 yards rushing, leading the Wildcats (5-2, 3-1) to an NLL win.

Bryant Schlade carries 22 times for 126 yards, and Armour added 104 yards on 18 carries, which included TD runs of two and eight yards. Zach Fielder caught a 55-yard TD pass from Blake Dunbar, and Nate Rohrs returned an interception 25 yards for a score. Logan Peckinpaugh added a 23-yard field goal.

Elijah Todd provided the highlight for Springfield (3-4, 1-3), racing 99 yards for a second-quarter TD to help tie the score at 7. He ran for 158 yards on 14 attempts.
