Blocked punt helps spark Blue Devils past Generals

Louis Fuller blocked a second-quarter punt, and Connor Crane returned it 32 yards for a touchdown to help spark the host Blue Devils Friday night in a Northern Lakes League game.

The special-teams effort gave Springfield (5-5, 3-4 NLL) a 20-7 lead.

Elijah Todd ran for 113 yards and two TDs on 19 carries for the Blue Devils.

A.J. Harrison caught a 17-yard TD pass from Scott Seymour (13 for 24, 187 yards), who also scored on a 17-yard TD run. Brian Chamberlain booted a 36-yard field goal. Nevada Parker had team highs with four catches for 72 yards.

Evan Brown led Anthony Wayne (5-5, 4-3) with 130 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Josh Schwerer added a three-yard TD run.

 

Napoleon 28, Bowling Green 7

NAPOLEON — Zach Fielder and Bryant Schlade each scored two touchdowns for Napoleon.

Fielder scored twice in the first half to put the Wildcats (6-4, 4-3) in front 14-0, catching passes from Blake Dunbar of 21 and 5 yards.

Schlade ran 32 times for 186 yards and a one-yard TD run. He also intercepted a pass and ran 15 yards to go up 21-0 early in the third quarter. Napoleon outgained BG 398-169.

BG (3-7, 2-5) cut the deficit to 21-7 with 5 minutes, 16 seconds left in the third quarter on a nine-yard pass from Ricky Riggs to Brock Powers.
