Perrysburg wins first playoff game in school history, 28-21 over Akron Ellet

AKRON -- Perrysburg won its first-ever playoff game 28-21 at Akron Ellet tonight.

Three interceptions from the Yellow Jackets defense in the second half helped them earn their first lead of the game on a Gus Dimmerling 4-yard score with 7:41 left in the game.

Orangemen quarterback Jake Fisher threw a pass to the end zone to try to take a lead against Perrysburg in the fourth quarter when Quinn Thomas deflected the pass, and Matt Mesker made a diving interception in the end zone.

It was Akron Ellet's first loss of the season, they finished 10-1. Perrysburg is 9-2. Both schools came into the game 0-2 in playoff appearances.

Dimmerling had two rushing TDs and threw for another one leading Perrysburg. Defensively Seth Durham had two interceptions.
