Caledonia River Valley 36, Lake 25

CALEDONIA, Ohio — Caledonia River Valley raced out to a 27-0 lead Friday night and withstood a comeback effort from Lake in a Division IV first-round playoff game.

The Vikings (11-0) controlled the game on the ground, churning out 322 rushing yards on 59 carries.

Matt Green led River Valley with 16 carries for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Tyler Simmons and Gage Stuckman added rushing scores for the Vikings.

Jared Rettig paced Lake (8-3) with 206 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He also ran for a six-yard score and caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Adam Duncan.

Duncan caught a 16-yard TD pass from Rettig and Todd Walters added a 65-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.

Walters' TD catch cut the River Valley lead to 34-25, but the Vikings used a late safety to seal the win.

 

Wooster Triway 26, Wauseon 21

WOOSTER, Ohio — Wooster Triway's Parker Carmichael found Dillon Kopp on a two-yard touchdown pass with 2:30 left in the game for the decisive score in a Division IV first-round playoff game.

Wauseon (9-2) advanced the ball to Triway's 20 yard-line before turning the ball over on downs with about 30 seconds remaining.

Axel Bueter rushed in for a 22-yard score in the fourth quarter that gave the Indians a 21-20 lead, but Carmichael answered with his fourth touchdown pass of the night.

Bueter finished with 132 rushing yards and two TDs. Ty Suntken added a seven-yard TD run for Wauseon.

Carmichael completed 29 of 42 passes for 331 yards for Triway (9-2). He found Troy Haven on two TD passes and Jordon Miller on another.

 

Tinora 34, Northwood 6

DEFIANCE — Riley Nagel carried 21 times for 132 yards and four touchdown runs as Tinora cruised against Northwood in a Division VI first-round playoff game.

Nagel scored on runs of 5, 4, 25 and 43 yards.

Kurt Kahle hauled in a 14-yard pass from Brevin Renollet for the other Tinora score.

Tinora (10-1) jumped out to a 34-0 lead before Dominik Bermejo returned an interception 35-yards for the only score for the Rangers (8-3).

Bermejo rushed 18 times for 156 yards.

Tinora had 228 yards rushing and 163 passing. Northwood finished with 201 rushing and failed to complete a pass in eight attempts.

 

Sandusky Perkins 35, Napoleon 11

SANDUSKY — Dale Irby carried 16 times for 231 yards and three touchdowns as Sandusky Perkins cruised in a Division III first-round playoff game.

Perkins (11-0) dominated the game on the ground, rushing 36 times for 359 yards. John Workman and Jeremy Miller added TD runs for the Pirates.

Napoleon (6-5) briefly led after a first-quarter field goal by Logan Peckinpaugh, but never caught up after Perkins followed with 14 unanswered points.

Bryant Schlade rushed 24 times for 98 yards and a one-yard touchdown run for the Wildcats.
