Little Giants, Polar Bears open season with victories

Fremont Ross 55, Sandusky 49

FREMONT — Dylan Jagodzinski had 12 points and Grant McConnell and Jarvis Jones each added 11 to lead the Little Giants to a season-opening victory Friday night in boys basketball.

Sandusky’s Daveon Fisher finished with a game-high 21 points.

 

Woodward 74, Lima Temple 57

LIMA — Tahron Watson and Craig Kirkwood each scored 13 points to lead the Polar Bears.

Romoan Sane had 12 points and 15 rebounds. Daijour Wittinton added 10 points.

 

Delaware Hayes 67, Scott 57

MARION, Ohio — The Bulldogs fell behind early and had to battle back to tie the game with a strong third quarter.

But Hayes pulled away in the final quarter in the opening round of the Kirkpatrick Classic.

Trailing 30-23 at the break, Scott (0-1) went on an 18-6 run in the third to tie it a 46.

The Bulldogs were led by Chris Harris with 26 points — including four 3-pointers. Larry Green added 17.

Khali Iverson led Hayes with 23 points. Noble Moore added 18 and Alex Stevens had 11.

 

Liberty-Benton 66, Rossford 46

FINDLAY — Ryan Giese scored a game-high 21 points and Zach Garver added 17 to pace Liberty-Benton past Rossford.

Brian Burks led the Bulldogs with 18 points.

 

Port Clinton 55, Bellevue 48

BELLEVUE — Nathan Stubblefield tallied 24 points to lead the Redskins, who built a 22-17 halftime lead.

Thomas Pressler led the Redmen with 12.
