4 local players are All-Ohio first team for Divisions I, II

    COLUMBUS — Four local players were named Monday to the first teams of the Associated Press All-Ohio high school football selections in Divisons I and II.

    Hall

    Marcus Elliott of Whitmer was named to the D-I team as a defensive back. He had 93 tackles and two interceptions, helping the Panthers reach the state playoffs.

    In D-II, the first-team picks included Southview’s Nate Hall, Perrysburg’s Matt Mesker, and Anthony Wayne’s Jake Hartbarger.

    Hall, a defensive back who is committed to Northwestern, made 111 tackles and three interceptions.

    Mesker, a defensive back, had 110 tackles and three interceptions to help the Yellow Jackets win the Northern Lakes League and win the first playoff game in school history.

    Hartbarger, who is committed to Michigan State, averaged 42.2 yards per punt.

    Named to the Division I second team were Whitmer’s Chris Boykin (receiver) and Findlay’s Grant McKinniss (kicker).

    Selected to D-II second team were Clay’s Kyle Row (reciever), Perrysburg’s Gus Dimmerling (quarterback), Southview’s Ryan Stout (defensive lineman), and Bowsher’s Kolton Davis (defensive back).
