Rogers girls win contest in Motor City Classic

Rogers 66, Flint Southwestern 38

DETROIT — The Rogers girls basketball team improved to 7-1 on the season with a win Thursday in the Motor City Roundball Classic at Detroit Edison Public Academy.

Akienreh Johnson paced the Rams with 13 points, Sasha Dailey added 11, and Sidney Petty 10.

The Knights were led by Chavon Tiggs with 11 points.

 

Wauseon 39, Napoleon 30

NAPOLEON — Natalie Koenig poured in 18 points to lead the Indians to victory at the Northwest Signal Holiday tournament.

Courtney Smith had 10 for the Wildcats.

 

Boys

Rossford 58, Swanton 41

SWANTON — The Rossford boys basketball team had more bite than Swanton on Thursday.

The Bulldogs (6-3) charged out to a 17-4 first quarter lead.

Derek Mack had 21 points and Mack Miller added 13 points.

Swanton (2-5) was paced by Robbie Gilsdorf with 19 points and Bryce McComb with 13.
