Big second half helps Maumee beat Otsego

Maumee 64, Otsego 61

TONTOGANY — Maumee erased a 15-point halftime deficit Saturday night to defeat Otsego in boys basketball.

Mitchell Kontak scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half for the Panthers (3-9), including three 3-pointers in the third quarter to ignite the comeback.

Brendan Callahan added 11 for Maumee.

The Panthers trailed 35-19 at half but outscored Otsego 22-10 in the third quarter and 22-16 in the fourth.

Jalen Myers scored 25 points for the Knights (5-7). Schyler Scherff finished with 21.

 

Wauseon 69, Delta 46

DELTA — Noah Castle tallied 28 points for Wauseon.

Jacob Newlove and Kris Boysel had 13 each for the Indians, who outscored the Panthers 47-24 in the second half.

Justin Callahan led Delta with 14 and Bailey Monroe added 13.

 

Norwalk 61, Whitmer 47

Grant Hull scored 16 points for Norwalk (13-0), which led 29-18 at halftime.

The Panthers (4-8) cut the lead to 33-29 in the third quarter before the Truckers went on a 16-point run.

Jon Ashe tallied 14 points for Whitmer. Sam Hickey added 12.

 

Pettisville 52, Evergreen 44

METAMORA — Korben Rychener led the Blackbirds (7-6) with 12 points.

Logan Pinkelman had 22 for the Vikings (7-4), while Tristen Wilson had 10.

 

Margaretta 71, Port Clinton 48

CASTALIA — Austin Spicer tallied 29 points and Dylan Bailey added 12 for Margaretta.

Nathan Stubblefield led Port Clinton (5-8) with 10 points.

 

Elida 67, Bowling Green 48

ELIDA — Dakota Mathias led Elida with 23 points.

Lamonta Stone scored 23 for the Bobcats (2-10).

 

Lakota 57, Danbury 45

KANSAS — Colin Timmons and Josh Kirkpatrick scored 17 points each for Lakota.

James Dorko and Hunter Stinchcomb paced Danbury with 10 points each.

 

Liberty Center 69, Hilltop 39

LIBERTY CENTER — The Tigers outscored Hilltop 26-9 in the opening quarter.

Jarren Altman led Liberty Center with 13 points, Matt Huber added 12 and Konnor Pohlman scored 11.

Quinn Smith paced Hilltop with 13 points and Tim Maneval scored 10.
