Flyers clinch at least share of championship

Bowen pumps in 48 points to lead Lake

TONTOGANY — Connor Bowen set a school record with 48 points Friday night as the Flyers clinched at least a share of the Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball championship.

Bowen broke the record of 40 points set last season by Tyler Landis.

Brandyn Neal added 14 and Jared Rettig 11 for Lake (19-1, 12-1 NBC), which led 44-39 at half before outscoring the Otsego 21-14 in the third quarter.

Jalen Myers tossed in 27 for the Knights (8-12, 5-8), Schyler Scherff had 16, and John Thomas added 12.

Rossford 76, Genoa 64

GENOA — Rossford used a 22-9 third quarter to pull away from the Comets.

Mack Miller led the Bulldogs (13-5, 10-2) with 19 points, Nate Childress scored 17, Ryan Niese had 16, and Marty Linthicum 11.

Luke Rightnowar poured in 27 points to top Genoa (8-12, 6-7), while Casey Gose added 18.

Woodmore 71, Fostoria 57

ELMORE — Woodmore (4-16, 4-9) led 21-10 after one quarter and never looked back.

Drew Lewandowski paced the Wildcats with 17 points, while Grant Weis added 16, and Erich Greulich provided 11.

Jayden Stanton led Fostoria (2-18, 0-13) with 20 points, and Kaleb Bemis had 11.

Eastwood 67, Elmwood 43

PEMBERVILLE — Jake Schmeltz led Eastwood with 17 points.

Grant Peters added 15 for Eastwood (14-5, 9-3), which stormed out to a 28-1 first-quarter lead.

Trevor Solether fired in 23 points for the Royals (6-15, 5-8). Aaron Arnold provided 11.
