Flyers capture outright crown

Bowen sets Lake season scoring mark

Lake 75, Woodmore 49

Connor Bowen scored 26 points Friday night as the Flyers clinched an outright Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball championship.

Bowen has 472 points this season for a Lake record, breaking the mark set last season by Rashad Smith.

The Flyers led just 31-30 at halftime but broke away with a 26-9 edge in the third quarter.

The Flyers (20-1, 13-1 NBC) also got 14 points from Jared Rettig, 10 from both Todd Walters and Jacob Rettig.

For Woodmore (5-17, 4-10), Drew Lewandowski had 13 points, while Erich Greulich had 10.

Rossford 55, Elmwood 39

Brian Burks scored 18 points as the host Bulldogs finished in second place in the NBC.

Dereck Mack added 16 for Rossford (15-5, 12-2), which jumped out to a 13-7 lead after one quarter and led 21-14 at half and 40-29 after three quarters.

Trevor Solether paced Elmwood (6-16, 5-9) with 10.

Genoa 69, Otsego 66

TONTOGANY — Luke Rightnowar poured in 27 points for the Comets (9-12, 7-7).

Casey Gose added 24 and Noah Goodrich scored 13.

Genoa led 19-12 after one quarter and held to win.

John Thomas tallied 22 for Otsego (9-13, 5-9). Jalen Myers scored 15 and Cody Downs had 11.

Eastwood 77, Fostoria 33

PEMBERVILLE — Jake Schmeltz tallied 31 points as the Eagles (16-6, 10-4) cruised.

Eastwood led 33-19 at half and 49-26 after the third quarter.

Kobey Bemis paced Fostoria (2-19, 0-14) with eight points.
