Girls teams advance to district championship games

DIVISION I

Eagles soar to victory

Notre Dame jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed in advancing to its fourth straight Division I girls basketball district final, topping Northview 60-35 Thursday night in a semifinal at Central Catholic’s Sullivan Center.

The Eagles (21-3) got double-figure scoring from four players, led by Jayda Worthy and Kaayla McIntyre, who had 14 points each. Tierra Floyd had 12 points and Christiana Jefferson added 10 for Notre Dame, which will face Perrysburg in the district final Saturday at 3 p.m. at Lake High School. READ MORE.

Perrysburg wears down Lima Senior

The Perrysburg girls basketball team defeated Lima Senior in a Division I district semifinal rematch 66-48 Thursday night behind 21 points from senior Sarah Baer.

Baer made her first four shots of the fourth quarter to spark a 12-2 Perrysburg run putting, the game out of reach. Junior Kayla Piezer had two fastbreak layups during the run. READ MORE.

Rogers, Clyde to vie for D-II district title

The Rogers and Clyde girls basketball teams will meet in the Division II district championship on Saturday after both registered wins on Thursday night.

Clyde thumped Central Catholic 70-53 in the first district semifinal at Perrysburg High School. Rogers then held off a pesky Bowling Green team 71-68 in the second semi. READ MORE

Delta survives to top OH; Archbold advances to final

The Delta girls basketball team is bound for its first district championship game in program history after holding off Ottawa Hills in a 53-52 thriller Thursday night. Can the Panthers defy the past again?

A postseason ride Delta coach Ryan Ripke called "awesome" will continue Saturday against powerhouse Archbold, which took down Evergreen 55-40 in the second game of a Division III district semifinal doubleheader at Anthony Wayne. READ MORE.
